September 2025 (Ride The Alps event)
Stats: Le Chable (820m) to Mauvoisin Dam (1,980m) and then return to Sembrancher (700m): 45 km long, + 1,270m elevation gain.

This is the last of the 2025 Ride The Alps events, on a sun-drench Saturday at the end of the Summer. The route, blocked to traffic for this event, follows upstream the little river in the Val de Bagnes, until its source at the Dam de Mauvoisin (1,980m). The 19km ride along the narrow valley is calm and postcard worthy, especially with the brilliant green colors of nature and the blue sky.

The Dam is 250m high, the 15th highest in the world, and forms the Lac de Mauvoisin. This Lac is really stunning, flanked by tall rocky mountains, among which is the massif of the Grand Combin with some of the highest peaks in the Alps (in the 4,000m). A few glaciers can be spotted in the distance.
