June 2025 (Ride-The-Alps event)

STATS: Vercorin (1,300m) to Moiry dam (2,250m) and back, total 46km and 1,600m elevation gain.

Thanks to Ride-the-Alps for their fabulous organization, free participation, and traffic blockade during this friendly outing.
It is always an unforgettable experience when we can reach the mythical Swiss dams and passes along mountain roads with zero car traffic.

This ascent is not easy, even with an ebike, and especially in this hot sunny day. But the company of other bikers and the fabulous landscape makes it absolutely enjoyable.
As the Dam appears in the distance, I am relieved to see the goal within reach. But the last part is the toughest, with steep hairpins to ascend the few kilometers to the lake/dam of Moiry.

But what a reward once at the top! And the raclette meal offered is a God sent.

The descent is a freewheeling exhilarating ride, but with less time to enjoy the view and quite chilly for who like me has forgotten the jacket.
